TD-SCDMA Update

Taiwan-based BenQ has joined hands with China's Datang Mobile Communications Equipment to develop TD-SCDMA mobile phones. With the new TD-SCDMA line, BenQ's mobile phone portfolio will encompass all three prevalent 3G mobile communications standards: TD-SCDMA, W-CDMA, and CDMA2000. BenQ expects to roll out its TD-SCDMA models in 2007 in anticipation of the upcoming 3G license issuance in China.
